A WORD
ABOUT THE s6424 CIRCUIT
The s6424 circuit was produced by Valco mfg. Co. in the early 60's.
Valco made amplifiers for many different amp companies including Supro.
This is the very circuit that you will find in the classic Supro Model 24 and
1614T Amplifiers.
Note: We are in no way affiliated with the
Supro amplifier company.
Jimmy Page Interview:
(Guitar World, Jan 1991 interview)
"GW: You were using small amps, like Supros. Those aren't very loud.
JP: The first album was done totally with a Supro. It's got a 12-inch speaker.
So, with just that, a wah-wah, a boost pedal [a Tonebender by Roger Mayer] and
a Telecaster, you've got a great variety of sounds."
This interview should put
to rest any claims that Jimmy used a Thunderbolt which had a 15" speaker.

ABOUT OUR 24 KIT
The Sound
Great Vox like sound for clean chords and picking.
And a great Supro overdrive like you can hear on the 1st Led Zeppelin album.
This amp sounds great with any guitar...Telecaster, Les Paul, Strat or a ES-335.
The Circuit
The WATTS 24 kit was designed to offer all the
best of the 6424 circuit and then some.
We converted the circuit into an easy to follow
layout using point to point turret board construction.
Using our detailed layout
diagrams this kit is as easy to follow as any other on the market.
The Transformers
With the help of Heyboer Transformers we zeroed in on the best sounding and most accurate set of transformers
possible for this amp. The power transformer is to spec with the original and produces the same
voltages that you will find in an original 6424. The output transformer is extremely accurate in its' tonal qualities but we also
added some weight to in order to achieve a slightly bigger sound.
The Cabinets
Our cabinets were designed to follow the original lines of this very
cool 60's amplifier and
we added some height and depth to allow for more speaker
options.
Cabinets made exclusively by Reason Amplification.
You'll love this amp!
